Responsibilities
We are seeking a senior manager with extensive copywriting, editorial, and SEO experience. The person in this role will lead copywriting and content strategy for Eyeful Media’s SEO clients and owned websites. In addition to editing and writing, you will manage and mentor a team of contract copywriters and external agencies and partner with our project manager to ensure timely delivery of content.
In this role, you’ll leverage your experience with editing, writing content, and developing content strategy for websites to deliver short and long-form B2C and B2B copy that connects with various target audiences. Copy will include blog posts, eCommerce category copy, meta tags, and other forms of copywriting. Experience creating content based on specific personas and customer journeys is a plus.
Define and develop a content strategy for each of our clients and digital properties
Create editorial guidelines and best practices for maintaining consistency and accuracy
Partner with clients to create brand guidelines & align on tone of voice
Edit content created by a team of copywriters and external agencies
Write both short and long-form copy for our clients & owned properties
Participate in website redesign projects to ensure the communication of strong stories & brand messaging
Develop deep knowledge and expertise of our clients’ businesses
Measure and track content performance to improve SEO rankings and ultimately sales & revenue for clients
Build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders in all parts of our business
Work on other projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS
7+ years of in-house or agency experience in copywriting, content strategy, and editorial functions preferably with both B2C and B2B experience
4+ years of people management experience
Innovative thinker who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and make bold recommendations, while balancing risk/reward to our clients
Cross-team negotiation skills and superior communications skills
Self-starter/motivator who strives for quantifiable results; able to work remotely with limited supervision
Experience with creating content geared toward a variety of audiences & personas
Understanding of SEO ranking factors that are related to content
Track record of partnering effectively with colleagues and clients
Motivated self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-moving, results-driven environment
Incredible attention to detail
Experience presenting to executives is a strong plus
Familiarity with keyword research tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush) & Google Analytics is a plus
Bachelor or Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
We would prefer for this person to be in Dallas, but it is a remote position. We are open to a permanent hire or long-term contractor. Please note that if you prefer to be a contractor, you must be available during standard working hours - this can’t be a side hustle.
