We are looking for a Technical SEO Manager to perform search engine optimization for our clients and owned websites. Experience running organic search programs in-house for eCommerce or B2B companies is a plus.
The SEO professional will work closely with our clients, the director of SEO, and their peers to drive and implement strategic initiatives for overall SEO program improvement, traffic, and revenue growth.
This person must be strong analytically and technically, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity in an ever-changing landscape. Experience with B2B, B2C, and content sites is strongly desirable since this person will be working with various types of businesses ranging from jewelry companies to software companies, and everything in between.
The technical SEO manager should be pragmatic and a creative thinker who can audit and improve programs, exhibit leadership and persuasion skills, be comfortable using various analytics tools and excel at working with people of differing SEO acumen levels. Experience prioritizing efforts and building business cases is a plus.
The individual in this role is responsible for contributing to the execution of strategy, tactics, and reporting with a long-term goal of increasing traffic, revenue, and profit from organic search to our client’s websites and several sites that we own.
We are looking for an individual that is comfortable setting strategic direction, but also adept at getting their hands dirty in executing this strategy. The ideal candidate is strongest in technical SEO, but can also balance on and off-page SEO strategy.
While we prefer to hire someone located in Dallas, we are open to this being a remote position for the right candidate (must be based in the USA).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the development and implementation of strategic action plans to accelerate the achievement of long and short-term SEO objectives for our clients and owned sites
Audit new client’s websites and report on findings in a way that non-marketing executives can easily comprehend and value
Create plans that include key initiatives and strategies, as well as detailed tactics, on an ongoing basis
Understand the major factors influencing organic search crawling, indexing, and keyword ranking to help increase relevance across major search engines.
Research, identify, and establish link partnerships to help increase ranking and relevance. Develop evaluation methods for link quality. Review inbound link profile and competitor link profiles to determine the best backlink strategy to improve traffic against top keywords for our clients.
Understand and support an understanding of how SEO goals and commitments fit into a broader corporate strategy
Perform fundamental search engine optimization activities, including but not limited to: technical audits, keyword research/ranking analysis, competitive market analysis, and analysis of our client’s implementation of SEO industry best practices.
Track and report on metrics, including referrals, link popularity, rankings, traffic, and conversion using tools such as Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Moz, SEMRush, and Majestic.
Assist in the creation of automation processes for the search marketing practice
Monitor and report on key SEO industry trends & algorithm updates, and how they will impact our clients and owned sites
Create weekly & monthly reporting for clients
Work on other projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of hands-on SEO experience including both tactical and strategic achievement
Energy/capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and stay focused and organized
A background showing quantifiable success in SEO for other eCommerce and B2B companies; experience with local SEO is a strong plus
Proven analytical ability and quantitative skills – very strong Excel skills
Exceptional problem-solving skills are essential. Must be able to hypothesize and analyze root causes and then make data-driven recommendations regarding solutions and opportunities. Understand how/when to incorporate qualitative data into decision-making.
Innovative thinker who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and make bold recommendations, while balancing risk/reward to our clients
Cross-team negotiation skills and superior communications skills
Strong understanding of all three pillars of SEO: content, technical, and linking
Understanding of HTML code and site architecture. Working knowledge of HTML, Javascript, and Python is highly desirable.
Self-starter/motivator who strives for quantifiable results; able to work remotely with limited supervision
Knowledge of best-in-class SEO and analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Brightedge, Moz, SEMRush, Deepcrawl, etc.
Experience presenting to executives is a strong plus
